CAN'T believe this month is OVER already. Going So fast.
I worked alot less this month. BUT Jim continues to work in HOT attics.
It has been a much quieter month.
Sunday August 2 I had off, Jim watched Hockey outside. I had a bunch of fresh peppers I chop and freeze for later use. I was going to call Chris tomorrow but I called her, we had nice long chat while I chopped away, she was good company and made the chore go fast, it gets old REALLY quick, all that chopping.
I stopped at Wal-Mart on my way to get my nails done on August 5th. I ordered Al Roker's newest book called " You look so Much Better in Person." I thing alot of people say to him when they meet him, they think it is a complement, BUT it is not. Lol, I REALLY like him alot, he is very funny. Book really good, just to short.
Also saw Cindy the Tupperware Lady, we hung out for a bit and chatted. Closing out my book party the end of the month.
August 7th Friday after Jim got home from work, I also worked that day. We went to pick up the truck. Probably 40 minutes away, really close to where we used to live. We had plans to stop at a restaurant we really like and have not been to yet since we are back from Florida this time.
I have a colonoscopy coming up this Monday and have to get a Covid test before the procedure. Jim asked me if I did that yet, I had totally forgotten all about it. Was not sure even where I had to go or the time they were closing today. They left a message on my phone but gave none of the critical information I needed in the message. So I dropped him off at the truck, and headed back to Lebanon, very annoyed that our plans suddenly changed, because I forgot. But luckily he had remembered or I couldn't have gone through with the procedure on Monday. I turned off the radio in the car which I never do and racked my brain all the way back into Lebanon to remember where to go. I stopped at the GI doctor and she told me where it was across the street. I made it just in time, she told you what to do and you actually gave yourself to test. Was my second covid-19. First one was at work which was very quick and painless too. I called Jim and he said the truck sounded different since they worked on it. We decided to meet at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner there instead. It turned out to be very lovely and all is well again.
Saturday after I got home from work we had made plans to go to the new Mexican restaurant, I guess it's not really new anymore but we really like it there. Called Plaza Azteca in Myerstown and we met Jim's co-workers and boss with there spouses about 10 of us for dinner. We followed proper protocol for eating out. It was a lovely evening. I gave Jim's boss's wife Crystal a jean purse I made, we saw them together for sale when we were in The Village's together, when they came to Florida. I told her I was going to make one and she said she also wanted one. She was very happy and surprised that I did that. After we left of course I was driving home and Jim's boss Lance and Crystal called and invited us to stop back at their house for a quick nightcap, turned out to be not so quick. He asked us to call Joe too, and ask Joe and Kathleen too, they stopped, we had a nice visit at their house in the backyard deck and then ended up in their living room. Jim was showing them an app he has showing the constellation, you can find the International Space Station, and identify all the planet's, it plays really cool space music, fun to look at. Eventually made it back to the FW a little later than we had anticipated. But it was a really fun night.
Sunday August 9th Moving Day
We came back to Thousand Trails Hershey also have to start my prep for tomorrow. Without getting into any more personal details. Later there was a telephone pole hit up the road outside of the campground which we had no electric after that happened. It was getting quite warm in here and I asked Jim how long he was going to wait before he fired up the generator to get one of the AC running. It was probably 90 plus degrees out, we went from shady site to full on sun. The longer you wait the hotter it gets and takes even longer to cool down. So he got it going right away everything worked great. It ended up running all day. We were without the truck for so long two or three weeks at least with the generator in the bed of the truck. Luckily we never needed it then and a few days after we got the truck back we did use the generator, that worked out great.
My appointment today was for 9:15 which meant I had to get up at 3 a.m. to finish prep. Enough said. Everything went well they confirmed I do have ulcerative colitis. New medication to follow starting soon.
August 13th Thursday after work Thomas and his family Kerri and Sarah are 13 year old, oldest granddaughter came over and I made dinner for everyone. Jim grilled steaks we had a lovely meal together. Jim took everyone for a golf cart ride. First time we ever had four people on it, Jim said it did great and I cleaned up the mess from dinner. I made an orange creamsicle cake for dessert.
First I braided Sarah's hair in a French braid. And Thomas is long down the middle he let me braid his too, it was funny. I told Kerri she was next she never did let me.
Friday August 14th after Jim got home from work and showered we made plans to go out to Steve and Katrina to get his haircut again and then go to dinner with them. We went to the Moose's LZ in Fort Indiantown Gap. We had a lovely time with them even brought home leftovers.
Saturday August 15th after I got home from work we had a party we were invited to at Joe and Kathleen's house they live right up from Thousand Trails Hershey. They had a lovely outdoor Garden Party. Took some photos of the friends , flowers and food always the highlights.
A few weeks after the party Joe Works where Jim does and he fell through a roof inside a customer's house landed on the dresser and broke his back. He will be off work for a while. Dangerous job the guys have in HVAC.
Sunday August 16th I had to work from 4 to 8 we had a nice relaxing day before I had to leave. We took a golf cart ride ended up seeing Wanda and Jack that we met in Florida that took to line dancing and love it. Still do it every day they say wish we had time to go somewhere and dance with them, we had a nice long chat with them at their RV. We had to head back a late lunch and then I went to work.
We stop and see Jim's mother as much as we can, we food shop for her. She pretty much is locked down and can't leave where she would have to be quarantined when she gets back, she won't do that. But I guess quite a few people have then they can't leave their rooms, Apartments. She wanted us to get some medication for her. When she asked I remembered I never got my prescription filled from the GI doctor. So we went and did that the next day got them for both of us.
The rest of the week I worked a lot of the late shifts that were 4 to 8. Beautiful sunset when I left work that night.
I think most days I had dinner ready for Jim, all he had to do is heat it up.
I stopped at the lady right up from TTH she has my orange tree there, it is 45 years old that tree. She takes good care of it. She sells fresh cut flowers by the road, I stopped by to get some for myself and my MIL and to see my tree. Saw her free range chickens too.
Finally at the end of the month Jim ordered our new Glow Steps. They will be a lot more stable, they actually touch the ground too. I will take before and after pictures when he installs them. We got a few of the installation pieces already but they're coming from China sounds like it will take awhile. I've been wanting them for a long time. This is a picture of the Tupperware lady she has them.
Wednesday the GI doctor called me we discussed a new medicine he wanted me to start not really into it but he talked me into it for a month. It was the stuff I picked up when we got my mother-in-law's prescription too.
We moved back to PA Dutch on Sunday August 23rd everything went relatively smoothly compared to the last move. We got the same site again. View of the woods in the back.
Got my nails done again at the end of the month the last week in August I worked 5 days in that week almost a 40 hour week. A lot quieter then last month.
Been wondering what you have been up to the last several weeks. Got your card. Always a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteTake care of those medical issues. You have a lot of traveling to do.
You need to stop in to see Terri and Steve. They would be happy to see you both again.
Love you much, Phyllis (and Leonard too)
