Recovery day

We got up this morning had a little bit of coffee, watched a  little TV, then got ready and went down to the main lobby and had breakfast. It was very good and reasonably priced. Jim had eggs toast and bacon I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. With tip was only $14. Then Antonio texted us, he dropped off the products I ordered, was very nice of him to do that, even hugged us both.  We sat in the beautiful Lobby for a while Jim looking at his phone trying to figure out what we wanted to do next, another big decision day. So we decided to go to Camping World, Jim needed black and clear caulk and we also bought bug remover for the camper. I also wanted to look at the portable fire in a can, I really wanted one but they are so heavy and decided to wait. You know I really want Jim to be able to enjoy a fire outside. Then we went to Lowe's Jim needed screws. And the truck started making this really weird squealing sound, which seemed like it was coming from the brakes, they didn't smell at all. So we pulled over to a gas station and I got out we looked around and didn't see anything, so he got back in again, and went back-and-forth, and then it stopped he thinks the stone fell out that he found, it was all scratched up and then it stopped. Crisis averted apparently. Then we went to Lowe's and got our screws looked around briefly. Then we took a drive to Thousand Trails, Las Vegas . We didn't know a lot of things about it,  Jim heard it was small and tight,  and not very nice place so we wanted to see for ourselves,

because we're paying quite a bit of money for 5 days at the Oasis RV Resort. But it is very nice there the lobby is amazing for an RV  Resort. They  have a spot for big rig, and Deluxe sites, both being pull thru. Even a section of the campground for no pets. The difference in the two is the length of the sites,  we had to squish the truck in the back , but if we would have got a  big rig site we could have kept the whole length together,  but this works. Then we Cruised the strip in the pickup truck.

Then we went and got water and Diesel. Demi went back to the fifth wheel, I talked him into going into the hot tub and pool which was a lot of fun and very relaxing. Always makes for a great end of the evening even had a beer with them.

Walked strip for 7 Miles

When we got up I made a smoothie, I had a bowl of cereal and yogurt and made him some eggs. And then we got ready for our big adventure. We walked up to the lobby of the campground. Jim called for an Uber and they arrived at 11:45. Nice young kid he's lived here less than a year he did a great job for us and dropped us off at the plaza, and gave us a lot of information. Was only $24 from the campground with a tip. We got out of the Uber  walked into Fremont Street , and within five minutes we got sucked into this beauty store , we're a wonderful sales guy from Grease, Antonio, showed us his products , called Valaiss, man was he good .  Now that we were in there for at least an hour and a half ,  I felt like we bonded, all three of us .
We didn't want to walk around with all the products all day so he would drop them off at the camper tomorrow morning for us .  He says his apartment  is one of the big buildings that's right next to the campground. Then we walked and walked and walked, and walked, and walked. Of course we took a lot of pictures,

We got off track a little bit, but then got back towards all the huge buildings on the strip. We were looking for a place to eat for a long time, you would be surprised how hard it was to find something. Of course everything is a casino and I hate the smell of smoke right inside the door. I told Jim it felt like we were on Survivor in the the Concrete Jungle because I ran out of water, No Pepsi or Beer, couldn't find food, no transportation no shelter, no fire, not to mention all the Predators I mean people around that were somewhat Shady looking. I told Jim he would see a lot of things you never saw before. We finally broke down and ate,  I guess around 4:30 at a Panda Express, found a table outside,  course the view is great.

The weather was great all day, it never did get too cold, or hot for that matter just right. We walked up to the Bellagio and saw the fountain show go off, whatever they call it. I took a video of it lasts about three minutes goes off about every 15.

We walked to the hotel Bally's and that's where we ended up calling or Uber to come back, which by then was about 8:30 p.m. we walked the whole time except for about an hour where we sat to eat. We told the Uber Guy where we were dropped and then where he picked us up at he couldn't believe how far it was he said you walked that far. By this time we could feel that we did, we were pooped it felt so good to get in the car and sit down the ride was pretty quick $17 with tip for the way home. We walked through the lobby at the campground walk past the pool and hot tub and they said I bet it would feel good to get in there, Jim agreed we walk back to the FW and he says I'm not walking back which I knew was going to happen, so we didn't watched a little TV and crashed. Crashed wicked hard

From 1 casino to Las Vegas

Woke up in one beautiful casino parking lot,  heading to many more. I really enjoyed our night boondocking at a casino, it was a lot nicer than Walmart has been. It was definitely way quieter we had a couple nice security lights outside our door. Felt like we slept very well. I made breakfast Jim got the Genny going. We went outside when he was hooking up, we were so unlevel I didn't want to hear it when he started moving the jacks on the inside, it's definitely a ride I didn't want to take again. When I came outside there's a lake down below we keep seeing fishing boats going down there lazt night, Jim thought they were having a fishing tournament this morning. When I came out they were playing the national anthem, so we stood there listened, with our hands on our hearts and a tear in our eye. We finished hooking up and pulled out around 9:30. The drive was beautiful, pictures just don't do it justice

. We found a wonderful rest area to pull into and have lunch. I had pre made some sandwiches  and I heated up the last  of the chicken corn chowder on the stove for lunch.
The total drive was somewhere around 200 miles which was really nice relaxing drive off the Main Highway. But the last 20 miles getting into Vegas was crazy. When we checked in the lady at the gate took are license plate numbers off both FW and truck. She told us where to park and go in to register. The entrance was like a very high-end Hotel check-in. Very nice you looked around a little bit. Checked in and then pulled into our site.

There's over 700 sites here we had to put the FW to the very front of the site and squeeze the truck in the back just fit. We got everything set up, Jim does outside I do inside. At this point it's getting to be a pain to put some of the little things out just to put them away again in 5 days, so I didn't. I put yellow rice and chicken in the instant pot ,  Neil and Nancy called we talked to them for a bit .  We ate a salad  and then,  We went for a walk all around the campground looked at the registration area again. They have a little store with food and RV items also 6 slot machines, Jim put $2 in. We looked at the pool, oh they have an adult and one for children, hot tub. We walk back towards the RV looked at the laundry room, the bath house has separate bathrooms for when you go over there. We got back to the FW and had dinner the rice and chicken from the pot. We tried to find something on TV, earlier Jim got the satellite set up very quickly. And fortunately we still get our local channels from Palm Springs. We rented the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, it was really good. But I was very tired and falling asleep by 8:30. We both went to bed around 10.

Travel Day towards Las Vegas NV

Sadly today we had to leave KOA / Lazydays Campground. Was truly a really wonderful place. I made smoothies and some eggs and bacon for breakfast. We pulled out at 9:30 a.m. heading towards Las Vegas. We stopped at a truck stop  to have a quick lunch. Jim's phone kept ringing he didn't know who it was. When I said I think they left a message. And he said it was MIA so we called her back and talk to her for a little bit, oh you're so darn cute on the phone. Sounds like the only one who misses us. When we stopped for fuel we pulled in there was a car in front of us. A girl standing at the passenger door was trying to put on a belt looks like it was made from CDs. In this guy came out I'm finished pumping the gas. And then they all went inside the gas station while we're sitting right behind them waiting to fuel up. And then she came out they had no keys so she couldn't get in looked at us and went back in. And then later her and another guy came back out got my car started kissing. And then they waited for the other two guys that were with him to come out the whole time we're waiting behind them to fuel up. A first Jim started getting mad. No I said it's all good just smile no problem no rush. And then they came out and just sat there waiting for the other guys, oh I was really getting ticked off. It was just so blatantly rude but they wouldn't move. There's nowhere else we could go Jim is on the end of the pumping row. Anyway fuel was cheap so when we finally got out of there and got back on the road we were heading towards Walmart to Boondock. When we finally got there the Walmart was packed full of RVs. Without to many issues, we got parked. I want to do a little food shopping and get something to make for dinner, I took my list and went into the store alone. Some guy I started talking to Jim right before I went in. I got my shopping list and went in. Before I went to check out I went over and asked this greeter that was at the door if it was okay to stay the night and she said NO not really. So I'm thinking oh crap,  there's a lot of RVs out there, and she's like I know but they're not supposed to be. Over at the courtesy desk we had a big yellow sign she pointed out to me that said no overnight parking sorry for the inconvenience. I asked her where we could go and she said there was a casino right up the road which I forgot Jim already knew about.  I texted Jim that we had to move up to the casino and that I was on my way out. He helped me get everything inside. I put all the items in that needed to go in the fridge and freezer. Put the rest by the door. I was glad he didn't have the camper leveled and the generator cord out,  but he said the guy talked to him for so long, he  never got it done which was good. We moved right up the road to the casino. Right out by the road there was just Barren land a whole bunch of RVs were parked in, but the sign said you needed a permit to park there. So we drove back the road in towards the casino and again a lot of RVs in there. The parking lot was very unlevel,  but we drove in made a big circle around and found a place to park. Then we went for a walk all around to look at the parking lot to see if there was any place better to move, we went inside the casino and looked around, really nice  hotel in here also was just too Smokey for me and we didn't stay in very long. Since it was so unlevel  Jim pretty much had to unhook the truck and then level it which worked out okay. Then he moved the truck to the side of FW, made it closer to plug in the generator. Again the batteries did great. Jim plug the generator in I put the slides out, started making dinner. We actually sat outside to eat it was pretty warm in the camper but comfortable. Then I came in to clean up the dishes, wanted to add up some numbers from February to see how we did. I crochet a little had the TV on took a shower. While I was doing that, Jim walked inside the casino to look around a little bit. I told him not to gamble away the rent money. I'm so glad we moved down to the casino it's so much more comfortable and nicer here. Beautiful views all around us. We don't have cars whizzing by us like we did over there. Turned out to be a really nice travel day, and great place to park, as we say The Price is Right.

Decisions Made, we have a plan

I went to bed a little late last night, I started making Jim a bag to hold the pads for landing gear. I had bags everywhere made the camper a mess. So Jim was up first this morning, made coffee and I got up right after that. So we had a big decision to make. We have reservations for Las Vegas, we have two shows we booked to see from March 5th to the 8th. The big problem was we were supposed to leave today at this KOA that's so beautiful with all the fruit trees, we had nowhere booked to go in between now and then. He spent a lot of time yesterday looking online to find a place, to no avail. So this a.m. after we had a muffin with our coffee. Yesterday I made 6 blueberry and 6 chocolate chip muffins. We walked up again to see if we could register for another night or two here. We were up there before 9ish. So the lady at the desk told us we can stay one more night but we have to move to a different site. Which normally is a pain but the last site we had for the last two nights was the closest to the road and gate and a guy next to us with three barking dogs. And yesterday he walked behind our camper with one dog, Jim was under the front cap and heard him, which he shouldn't be under there, and he looked up quick and banged his head till it bled. So we were fine with moving more Inland of the campground where we were before. So we got a new site number 1601. While he was getting ready outside I called the RV Resort in Las Vegas and asked if we could arrived two days earlier. She was very hard to understand had to keep repeating what I thought I heard her say we wanted to add a day on the end too, but we would have had to move on the last day for only one night,  so I just decided we would take the two days early. And hopefully that would ease Jim's anxiety. We moved around 10:30ish a.m. as usual Jim did a wonderful job backing in to our site, our neighbors were sitting out so they had a nice view of his expertise. We talked to them for a bit, one of the first things he mentioned was how wonderful and easy he backed in this huge thing. So now tomorrow we will be leaving and I think now he found a Walmart we can stay in between here and Vegas, Boondock for one night and then arrive at the Las Vegas Resort on the 2nd to the 8th. We did our minimal set up I saw a recipe on my phone last night for potato soup. So once we were situated I got out my instant pot end made potato soup but instead I did cream chicken corn chowder, No cream, So we had the soup for lunch and then we sat outside Jim loves watching the F-18 fighter jets flying here they do Dives and Spins and turns they're little loud but really fun to watch, getting ready for an airshow this weekend we heard. After picking all the fresh fruit I got out my blender and made a lemonade and ice drink really good.and the door still open.

Then we got ready and went down to the pool / hot tub talk to some people about our adventures where we're going next. Continue to watch the airshow. Then we came back and changed and locked up the camper and went up to the BBQ and Rush restaurant we had an awesome pork barbecue coleslaw potato salad, Jim had brisket sandwich baked beans and French fries, so good.
Then a  game of trivia broke out, is the activity they played five games 10 questions each we played three lost miserably had cool prizes though. We got the first one 2 out of 10 and then the next two we had four out of 10 wrong. Then we walk back, really warm evening,. was pretty warm out, 8:00 at night

Full day at KOA

Since we went to bed so early last night Jim was up at 6:30 and I got up right after him, coffee was still Perking when I got up. The sun was barely up we got to see the sunrise. It was nice just to watch TV not have to rush off. I washed the sheets at hung them outside first thing this morning, we had breakfast and relaxed. From 9 a.m. to 10 on Wednesdays on the porch  they do a little breakfast get together thing for people to hang out  so we went up to that  grabbed a muffin and English muffin . We sat outside a bit talked about where we're going next. Took a quick trip over to the Dollar General in the truck Jim is looking for beer. We ended up running into convenience store to grab beer. Jim recondition the water softener, also grilled some chicken for later. We also attempted to make some zucchini fries and we've been getting  here that we really like. Jim had for dinner some beef ribs I made in the Instant pot  the other night, I had the last of our veggie soup. We are sitting outside a little and picked some more oranges from our tree right outside our door are very good, I'm keeping the seeds to plant later. After dinner I went up and got in the pool and the hot tub, for a minute by myself talk to three people that were up there came back watched a little TV. The BIG decision for the day was at this point we had no other places booked for leaving tomorrow. Gives Jim great anxiety for when we don't know where to go to next, does not do well with the unknown of where we're going to put this rig. Drives us both nuts. To be continued.....

Lazyday Appointment #2

This morning we got up did our normal morning routine quickly. Got everything ready to move and took the camper over to Lazydays for appointment number 2. We went back over to the KOA we already had a reservation for two more nights, but I wanted to get our new tag. But they won't give it to you until the people check out of your sight. While I was doing that Jim filled up with Genny with gas. Then we went to wash the truck found the car wash pretty close by. Then we went to Jim Click Ford to get the trucks oil changed.

We were there for way over an hour, place was quite busy. Can hear a lot of the service advisors come out and tell other people with their vehicle ALSO  needed. Jim said they would do that with us,  but they never did we just got a text that it was finished. There was a really young mother there and very pretty with two small children baby and a small toddler having a heck of a Time. Jim was in the bathroom the one time and the kid kept crawling up in his chair where we were sitting. We chatted for a minute, I couldn't believe that they didnt have a room for kids while they waited but, she really had her hands full. Later I went over to her and asked her if I'd be any help if I would hold the baby for while and she played with a smaller one, she said thank you but no I'm okay. I said well I remember those days. Soon as I said goodbye and good luck the lady came over and said her car was ready. They had a great snack bar in there, we ended up sharing a sandwich and a bag of chips and shared a cookie, it was over lunch time I was getting pretty hungry. We got a lot of stuff done with the blog while we waited. And we paid our bill and went to get spring water. We went back to the gas station and got more gas for the Jenny. We ran into Walmart so he could find some Pepsi and bananas  that's all we got. Drove by and they were still working on the 5th wheel after 2 we could see everything still opened up. We went and re-registered for our site I can got our tag. Then we went to the restaurant that the Lazydays service advisor told us to go to called Cattletown Steakhouse & Saloon.

It was a late lunch so it was pretty empty in there. We did talk to a man that was eating by himself for a minute. I had a salad with chicken, Jim had a steak and mashed potatoes and the few shrimp. After that we headed back to  talk to the service advisor about what was going on they're basically waiting for parts and to hear back from our warranty company. We waited for a while inside they're waiting area and then realized we should go out to the beautiful outside sitting area. It was so lovely out. After we talked to him we got hooked up and took the camper back and got set up in our site. We heated up some leftovers I had for dinner and then walked over to the BBQ Rush where there was a guy playing guitar listened there for a bit, then sat by the gas fire pit for a little bit went back to the FW went to bed early.
