This morning I woke up wish we would have signed up for the cavern tour. Cuz I want to do all the things. That's one of their switch it up catchphrases. Do all the things means like, comment, share, subscribe, In the YouTube world. So I looked on the Huddle Facebook group and someone had extra tickets they didn't need, they made other plans with family to go to San Antonio. They offered them to us, Jim walked over to their site to pick them up, they wouldn't take any money for them. Thank you. John and Shell. So we got ready quickly I ate my oatmeal on the way, it was too late to find a ride, we found out later someone did message us and we passed him on the way out I didn't realize they were going to pick us up. Truelove. Is there name. So we drove ourselves which was fine. We arrived at The Cavern at 10:30, with a lot of walking for Jim.
Sheila and Howard Strange from One Strange Adventure, setting a plan to video our tour.
Here some cool pictures.
At the end a very steep climb to exit. Unlike the caverns we were used to, this cave was about 98% humidity.
This looks like melting icing.
Beautiful flower behind truck where we parked.
After the cavern we walked around the gift shop. Then we drove back to the RV with the whole bunch of fellow switch crew following us. There was at least three groups of about 38 each. They all had an RV YouTuber recording the tour. We go back to the RV I made us lunch, then back to finishing the laundry.
Jim went outside to sit for a while, I was trying to straighten up in here, it's getting to be a disaster where you come in and get what you need run out for the next fun event. And he ended up helping Eric get his new Cricket in the back of his Jeep, he didn't think it would fit but it actually did.
We never did take ours out. But we're getting pretty good at hitchhiking rides. Then we got ready and went down to dinner at the tent.
Since Eric had his mini golf cart now him and I rode down to dinner. He let me drive. And Jim and Ann took their electric bikes, so Jim could try them out. I'm hoping it makes him want to buy one or two. Jim Said it was a lot of fun.
We had stuffed breaded chicken breast, angel hair pasta breadsticks, salad and mini pies your choice, of buttermilk, pecan, or Apple.
After dinner Sheila gave us the itinerary for the evening at a saloon nearby and for the day's activity tomorrow. Then Todd decided to switch it up and surprise her and do something on his own. She does all the planning he never knows what's going on. He picked two guys to volunteer to do something with him, then He he told them a pie eating contest,
Whoops still don't know how to remove extra pic
we figured he won because they went all in on the mini pies, no hands Todd's ended up falling on the ground and he started doing push-up plank position and finished some of the crust on the ground. Had a face full of dried grass. So they declared him the winner. That guy really does anything for a laugh.
Then we reversed it and I drove Eric back in the cricket, and Ann and Jim switched it up again and rode the bikes back. He said they can go 50 miles if you use the pedal assist in the whole time. And way anywhere from 60 to 45 lb. Then we got ready, put on our jeans and boots and we drove with Eric and Ann in their Jeep to the Watering Hole Saloon. We got to dance a little bit we were there early way before the cover charge. The live band was really good they were called Jeffrey Jacobs band.
A few people even had their t-shirt on. We closed out the bar everyone left Ann and Eric Jim and I were the last to leave from our group. We got back at the RV a little bit after 11 p.m. another fabulous fun day with the switch crew.
Only the young and fit could do all that you two are doing. Love Buttermilk Pie. Never had it before a few years back while in Texas.
