Happy Birthday to my Brothers David and Drew

Monday March 5, 2018

Eustis, Florida  Southern Palms RV Resort

Happy Birthday to my brothers, who may I say are the best. They were both born today, but 2 years apart. So cool, how are Mama did that. I called them and talked to Drew later today, but he was painting, what a birthday!

So we wanted to just stay home today. As Jim calls it, a very productive,  unproductive day, if that makes any sense. I had cold cereal and a greek yogurt. Jim had an omelet. I got my Instapot out and I picked all the meat off the 2 chickens that Jim smoked the other day. I put the two carcasses in the pot to cook down till we got home.  We got ready and went for a walk. We wanted to walk on the other side of the road and check out that side of the campground. Weird having it on both sides of the road, you don't see that often. We walked the whole other side, it took a good hour. We came back and I got lunch ready. I made us each a sandwich with the killer bread I had left over. I took the bones out of the pot to cool. Then I added a lot of veggies to the pot and a little orzo. When it was finished I added can of tomatoes and the chicken. It was really good. I froze some for travel days. Did one load of dark wash too.

I was able to talk with my one brother Drew, David was working.
Then I ran the vacuum cleaner ( Rainbow)  I sat out with Jim some.
It was so beautiful out today well the last few days not as hot and humid out. Was about 76 or so, perfect, with less wind.

I read my book inside for an hour, Jim was outside relaxing. I got things ready to start dinner. I had 3 boneless ribs that I wanted to reheat on the grill with our new copper grill mat. Sliced them thin and we had them with reheated grilled green beans and zucchini. Jim also grilled a steak. I heated the leftover  apple crisp too. As soon as it gets dark out it starts to cool off. We came in after Jim ate his steak outside. A lot of good TV shows on tonight, Mainly The Voice and some others.

Get Swamped Gaters and Crocks

Sunday March 4, 2018

Bushnell, Florida

Last night I went to bed before Jim, he was up first. It was a cool night. I made smoothies this AM, it has been awhile. We had planed on staying home all day. Jim has a niece he has not seen for a long time. They work tomorrow, so we thought it would be better to go today. We can stay home tomorrow. we had lunch first and got ready to go.

First we stopped at Camping World we wanted a new grill mat, and now we can't find one. They always have a huge flag, I just love watching it blow in the wind.

They live in Bushnell on a 40 acre gator farm. They have much more then gators. He was on the show Gator Brothers. We saw peacocks, parrot, cockatiel, lemur, venomous snakes, crocks and gators, turtles, most animals are not from the area. Was so cool to see, we went in the fence area with the gators and crocks. But only because we were with them. There was 12 gators and 1 crock in there where we were. gators have a tongue,  crocks don't. Crocks can live in salt water, they have a gland in the neck to remove the salt.
We learned a lot. They were great tour guides. We really enjoyed ourselves, we thank them very much. Did not know we had our own crock hunter in the family.

We wanted to be home before dark. We said our thank yous and goodbyes. It was a very nice drive there and back.

We arrived home and were ready to eat dinner, I had made salad yesterday and we had smoke chicken to put on it. I made a Paleo apple crisp, with almond flour, pecans coconut oil, spices. Was pretty good, first time I ever made it. We watched some TV and called it a night.

Friends and Fun at The Villages

Saturday March 3, 2018

Spanish Springs The Villages

I keep going to bed so late, so today again I was up after Jim. We enjoyed our coffee and watched a little TV. We decided to go to Spanish Springs at The Villages. We left, was only about 1/2 hour away. They had tickets for sale $5.00 each you could walk around and taste all kinds of BBQ. It was a fundraiser for the charter school there. Was so good, and we were full a lot quicker then we thought we would be. The place was packed. They had live country music playing at a few different places. We line danced a few times too.

We got a call from our friends Neil and Nancy. They were close by wanted to get together for a quick catch up visit. We told them exactly  where we were. We found each other, and an open table, alfresco and had drinks and a nice chat. We said our goodbyes and talked about maybe meeting up later in the week.

We headed out too. Jim saw there was a Sam's Club up the road, so we headed over there. There was some things we wanted to get , it was nice to be able to find one. We also filled Jim's pills. He found the beer he likes too.

We needed LP for the grill, so we found a place to get some on the way home. We got home had to put everything away. Jim got the smoker going and smoked two chickens. Then with the rest of the hot coals we put a few boneless ribs on the fire. When they came off, I put them in the IP. I cleaned up and watched TV. Jim was outside and started a fire with the rest of the hot coals. Lovely day with friends, and fun at The Villages

Explora Mount Dora

Friday March 2, 2018

Eustis, Tavares and Mount Dora, Florida

This is our location for the next good week. When we got up today it was a little late. Had a late breakfast. Took a shower and washed my hair. I also did some wash, sheet and towels. Put another load in before we left. We went to Mt. Dora. Someone told us about it, we just can't remember who it was. We parked put on our walking shoes. Walked a lot of cute very unique shops. Since we had a late breakfast we also had a late lunch. Of course we probably found the most expensive restaurant here. It was called Pisces Rising. We had a lake view, so nice. There was a cute little cupcake store we could not resist. We were there for quite a few hours, we hope to go back, was a wonderful day. Here are some pictures of items for sale, in some of the shops.

Then we returned to the truck. Found the WalMart food shopped. Which Jim is getting sick of doing. I almost always do alone in Pa. Maybe next time he wants to wait in the truck, fine with me, like taking a little kid with you. We found a place to fill our water jugs. Always one out in front of Winn-Dixie. Then we headed home. Was a nice drive back, a lot to look at.

When we arrived Jim brought everything in. I put the cloths in the dryer I started before we left and I put in another load. Then he put the grill on. He first grilled zucchini then peppers and onions and green beans last. We made a call to our oldest son, first we have talked with him since we left. A quick 20 minute call, he had people coming over. By then it was getting kind of dark. Jim put everything away outside. We came in and I ate some grilled veggies and he had a salad.

Above pic made with bullet shells
Jim showered I did the dishes and finished the wash. I polished my nails. Read some of my blogs. And then worked on ours. Watched a show I had in the DVR, after Jim went to bed. Tonight it is suppose to get cold, 50 something I think. Stay warm.

Said Goodbye to Lazydays, for now

Thursday March 1, 2018

Eustis, Florida

So we woke up about 8, and we were so ready to move on. We had coffee while trying to organize things to move. We took the golf cart, went over and bought breakfast, had eggs, bacon sausage and toast and more coffee and orange juice. It has been a long time since we had orange juice. Then we got a call from Chad he was ready for us. We needed an EXIT paper to leave. Paid our deductible, they ordered the motor $1200. that we needed, and it takes at least 3 to 5 days to have it shipped. So we will cut our next 2 week trip a little short and come back to have everything done. New slide motor, new bathroom fan, seal for bedroom slide, rework my drawer in kitchen. It was weird being here all this time and getting ready to leave and not one thing was fixed. That is the name of this game. Well they did adjust the AC upstairs. We thanked Chad and said our goodbyes and said see you soon.

Then we went over to service. Jim wanted to get a window knob that was not working. And I wanted this nice dish drainer since DW was a bust. It was $26.00 but so much nicer then what I have. Ok nice but found out shorty after that does not fit in sink, close but will not work, crap. So that will go back when we return. Then we went over to see Jim in service, we were looking for hinges that we want for the pantry and under sink. So the doors open wider with easier access to cabinets. Well we found them from another RV manufacturer, and we ordered them. They will be waiting for us when we return. Jim will install them later. I will put up before and after pictures when its done.

Then sadly we had to return the golf cart. It was like a mile over there. So we asked if we could get a ride back, we wanted to get going. We had a guy pick us up in a huge golf cart. Took us to where we were parked. And a FW and truck was parked in front of us. Jim freaks out a little, he just wanted to get going. We hooked up and had to back up and make a few tight turns, we are out. I really feel like I got to really know the place. I took a Benadryl allergy, my head felt so weird, I got so tired while he was driving, was hard to keep up with my navigation duties.

We drove to first rest area, he wanted to look at a few roads. He said he just couldn't concentrate before we left. We had less then 2 hour drive to Southern Palms RV Resort.

They had a guy park us. This place is on both sides of the road. We enter on one side and had to cross the road and go around to the other side. They wanted to put us under a huge moss covered tree. They probably had hundreds of them at Lazydays, I thinks they were full of the pollen that was bothering me. I really don't want the FW under one. So I asked if we could take another site up the road that was empty. The guy with us called the office and said the one that was available and large enough for us. Then Jim backed in.

I made salad with a little and apple with nuts for lunch with some strawberries.

Jim did the outside stuff. We put out all three slide was nice to have all three out again. We were not using the one that needs the new motor. And I was trying to make it just like home again, and put everything back out. Washed dishes did 2 loads wash, more tomorrow.

I made  tacos for dinner. Then we went for a quick walk around this end of the park. We put the news on and the rocket was just launched and we went outside and we could see it. So cool, we did talk about going over there for a tour. Just might have to do that.
Jim watched hockey upstairs and I watched my Thursday night line up down here. Nice to be in a real site again, planning on some fun tomorrow. Now 1 AM I'm still awake not good.

Welcome to Lazydays Day 3

Wednesday February 28, 2018

Lazydays Tampa Florida

Today we woke up a little later. We were going to go over and just pay for breakfast, thought they went to 9:30 we arrived at 9:35 they closed by then. We will try tomorrow. That is a big hint how the day went. So I made Paleo banana nut pancakes and eggs in the camper. After that we watched a little TV. Then went to check in with Chad to see how we are doing.  He said we were waiting for the warranty company approval. It would help if we called to check. So we came back and I called to see if I could expedite things. Then I had to call Southern Palms the next campground we had reservations for today. They were very nice.

So we went back and told Chad I talked with them. He said he got the approval. So I said now what happens. So we all planed that we would leave tomorrow. Then we would cut our next 2 weeks a little short and come back, by then they should have all the things we need here to get  the work done.

Then when all that was going on my boss at home called and asked if I would work full-time when we get back. YEA just what I wanted. So I had some texting and a few phone calls to make for all that, all set to go back to work April 9. So happy about that.

Then we had a little lunch, not enough for Jim but that's it. Then we took a long golf cart ride. The pollen in the trees is bad here. A lot of cars have a green hue. We came back I took some allergy pill, and laid down for a good hour. We got ready to go eat at Exit 10 again it was so good yesterday, plus it is hard to cook without water, our fresh tank was pretty much empty, we filled a couple of jugs to flush. we will be ok till tomorrow. We ate really good again. Had to try Key Lime pie, so good in Florida. We talked with a couple from MI and the couple we talked with a lot last night, came in again right before we left. Said Hi and By to them. I went into the pool. Really warm, Jim just went and showered right away. I was talking to an older man in the pool from Clermont. He really reminded me of my FIL. So I showered too.

Then we went back to FW our neighbors that were so nice last night were sitting out. They asked us where we go on the golf cart, so we said want to go for a ride. So we all went for a ride and took our trash to the dumpster. Came back and sat on our golf cart and talked a bit, moon was beautiful. Then we went in to watch new Survivor. I put stuff back under sink and called it a night.

Welcome to Lazydays day 2

Tuesday February 27, 2018

Lazydays Tampa Florida

Jim was up first today, hard to sleep last night. I made Jim some eggs. We shared 1/2 an orange, and I had half a Danish from yesterdays breakfast. We closed the camper up, in case they had to move it. I went in to attend 2 of the training classes they had today. On the Road to Healthy Living and then Convection Oven and Induction Cook. They were both very good. Chef Maximo said he would give 20 percent off if anyone from his class came to the restaurant, Exit 10. He cooked shrimp in the Microwave, we all had some, guess now I have to buy some shrimp and try it.

So I met up with Jim and we walked to the Cracker Barrel for lunch. Jim stopped at what he says the worst Walmart he was ever in. He went and washed the truck, and went to Hardees. That is what he did while I was in the classes. As soon as we sat down in the CB
we got a call to come to Chads office. So we worried a little and tried to eat a quick lunch, and went over to talk with him. He was trying to find us a new motor for our 1 slide. So more waiting while they look for one.

So we went to the truck and FW to get our pool stuff and we saw the FW next to us was occupied too and we couldn't get our slide back out. So I went back to talk to Chad about it, see if he could move us all around a little. And when I got there he said I was just texting Jim we found a motor. YEA, so told him about our situation with slide and he said he would work on it. OK

So we decided to go to the pool and shower there while we wait. Well needless to say it was hot, walking to CB was so hot. So we thought it would be a good idea, and just fun to rent a golf cart. So they rent 11 to 11 we were there at 4:30 not sure yet how long we will even be here so we rented for 2 days. So we drove it around for a while looked at some RVs. Then we went to the pool. There was a mom and 2 kids from England, had such a cool accent from little kids. We both took showers, then took the pool stuff back to FW saw they still never moved us but they had the camper unplugged. So we went back to eat dinner for 20 percent off at the Exit 10 restaurant. Was very good there. We had a nice little chat with the couple next to us. And Jim had a bucket of beer. Then we took the golf cart back to the FW and by then it was  almost 8 PM, and the couple was sitting out, and they never moved us. We said we would move it over they said NO just put it out. So I ran slide out and they watched to make sure it didn't get to close to them. Perfect, close but it will work for the night. There were so nice about it. We all talked for a bit. Then we went in and got situated I watched the rest of The Voice and This Is Us. Worked on blog and called it a night.
