WELCOME 2021
January 1, 2021
Today was my last day at work I worked my beeeep off. When I got home I starting putting some things away. Took a shower wash my hair Jim had his pork and sauerkraut for dinner I had another burrito bowl. Went to bed pretty early since I was up at 5.
January 2, 2021
Today I was up at 6:20 am ready to get things done. Started putting more things away when Jim got up I made him breakfast. We had a lot of errands we were going to get done. First we went to Mark's to see my shoe cabinet still a work in progress, as he was just about to start putting black paint on it. He is going to give it another night to dry , will pick it up tomorrow .
We went to Lowe's to find some Hardware to discreetly attach it to the island. Bought a LP / carbon monoxide detector, a little shallow box I'm hoping we'll fit on top of the cabinet keep things in place as we travel. We went into Giants for a few things, and got a couple things for his mom. I ran to get the mail while Jim went into CVS to get our four bottles of pills for the next 3 months . Went to the Chinese place could get takeout from the buffet. We ate lunch in the car. We went to his mom's dropped off her stuff talked more about Florida, she's getting excited. Although she doesn't want to eat my food, wants to cook for herself. Whatever, that's fine. We left to go home while it was still nice out, now to take stuff out of the car put it in the truck, put some stuff in the truck into the car. And we packed my car up to take things to the storage shed tomorrow. When we got home I made my last batch of applesauce made my tortellini soup.
We had dinner of the chicken patties Jim grilled the other night. Jim talked to Byron and ended up going over there for one more bro visit.
Sunday January 3, 2021
I was up really early again.
First we went to our climate controlled storage facility to put stuff in. It is so full now, left some in car. This is going to get to be a big problem soon. Have to figure something out for next year. We were going to get subs, but were closed. Then we went to Redner's our local grocery store. Then we went back to the RV put everything away and had lunch. Then we went to drop my car off at Mark's garage, Bryan was there, that is his RV.
Was so cold and raining. Then went to get the shoe cabinet. It looks awesome.
We were tempted to permanently install it right away. But decided to wait to make sure the fridge cleared when the slide came in.
We had alot more to put away. Went to bed early, tomorrow big travel day.

First Travel Day in Awhile
We were both awake just after 6. Even though it took days I'm glad we had so much ready in advance. Jim wanted to leave close to 8 it was about 8:30 when we pulled out. Goodbye Pennsylvania
First stop was a rest area just inside of Maryland for a potty break. Then we had our next stop was for fuel and lunch. We arrived at our stop for the first night, Crossroads RV Resort in North Carolina. It rained a few drops right before we arrived. Really nice place we left our one slide in. Left the truck hooked up we actually have a huge gazebo on our site.
After we got situated we went for a walk and did some line dancing in our gazebo.
Had dinner checked out local TV and the weather.
Showers, washed dishes, GREAT to have 50 amps and terrific water pressure again.
First day went from 37' when we left to 51'.

Tuesday January 5, 2021
We were awake naturally right before 7:30. Jim got the coffee going right away. He went out to plug the truck in. Said the truck was a sheet of ice. Pretty cool out this am. We had a relaxing morning. We decided to leave a little earlier than Jim originally thought we might. Left 8:45. First stop Flying J we got fuel at the RV side of the station. Was nice ate my oatmeal while he did that. Jim had a protein bar, for breakfast. Our late breakfast is us doing intermittent fasting. Then we drove another 2 hours or so. Saw our first Palm tree in NC. Stopped at a Pilot ran into an Arby's grabbed a quick lunch. Drove to our stop for next 2 nights, The Oaks at South Point TT. They had NO contact check in. It is known to be wet here. And it was a little, the 50 amp did not work right away. I called and they said the electrician knew about it. You have to wiggle the plug, Ok then, he said probably our plug or surge protector. No I said all new, Jim said inside plug broken. He got it working I did a couple loads, washed alot dishes. I made pot IP yogurt. We had leftovers for dinner. Jim did alot of things outside.
We did realize yesterday that shoe cabinet will have to be freestanding, because just not wide enough for both opposing slides to come in.
Watched a little news,then stuff I have in DVR. Went to bed at 10:30.
Wednesday January 6, 2021
Today we can just relax. I was up at 6. Jim got up an hour or so later. Later I made him a pancake and eggs for breakfast. I washed sheets and towels, total of 5 loads, did 2 yesterday.
We both took long showers I washed my hair.
Jim went for a walk and took trash out, and bought 2 bags of firewood. Later I washed the windows inside and out of the truck. Spot cleaned the camper a little and washed the mud off the floor mat on Jim's driver's side.
Noonish lunch time we went across the road and ate at Wendy's and got fuel.
Jim made a fire and grilled 2 California Turkey burgers for dinner, I just made before we left and had in the freezer. We had early dinner, been working on my summer tank top, ripped this one section out 4 times. Think I have it now.
Jim was out after dark with his fire. We both watched a few RV's come in for the night. Definitely not as many this year as we have seen in been past year's. This is a good free spot for a night or two.
I was watching cable TV, which is rarely seen at a TT.
We both went to bed at 9PM. Kind of funny.
Thursday January 7, 2021

Today I was awake at 6. Jim was up just after 7. We sat and drank some coffee, then we started to get ready to move. We left around 9 am.
We only made one stop at Florida WELCOME Center.
We arrived at the KOA in Starke about 12:30.
Great site, set up.
About 5 different people started talking to us before we were finished setting up. About the steps, being from Pa, golf cart etc. Was fun chatting with them all.
We took a drive to get wood and fresh produce that we passed on our way here.
Went to Save a lot, where I found my hush puppies.
I made a really good frozen pizza we just bought there. Jim grilled all the vegetables we just bought.
Later I made mini zucchini pie, and quiche, and some little heart shape pie crust to top my homemade applesauce with. That took a couple of hours.
We watched some TV, Jim went to bed first, I was so tired, couldn't get up. Kept watching TV, and surfing the cable channel. Was crouching a net for inside little coat closet to keep trash bags and other small items from falling out.
Finally went up to bed after 11:30 am

Friday January 8, 2021
Today I woke up late at 8:30 am, Jim was up at 5:30 am, he said he had a leg cramp and couldn't sleep anymore. We both took showers after I made him breakfast. He ran to Wal*Mart for beer, and diet Pepsi. And filled up with Diesel @ 2.45 gal.
I mixed up a batch of Paleo Chocolate chips cookies. Baked off 6, dipped out the rest and froze them.
Cecile came for a visit at 11, stayed till about 2. Was covid-19 worried so we all stayed outside. Was still a little bit colder out then we would have liked. She brought some salad for us, lite potato salad and a loaf of bread her neighbor just gave her. She is not eating it right now. Jim grilled Chicken and we heated up the grilled vegetables from last night. Was great but a little cold out to eat. We took a quick cold ride on the golf cart. She was getting cold and wanted to be home before dark. We said our goodbyes and went inside to get warm.

Happy birthday to our oldest son Thomas
I made Jim breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy, we are southern now.
We went for a cold golf cart ride. Then Jim took me over next to campground a Bealls outlet store I wanted to go to. Found a 2 rug set for the upstairs bathroom.
Also went into Tractor Supply. Jim Came over to get me, we had a quick leftover lunch. Cecile was coming over for a visit, at 2. Jim and I found a room inside near where the pool is. It was alot warmer for our visit.
It went really fast, she is very easy and fun to talk to.
She left around 3:30. Then I went for a walk around the campground and Jim took me back to the store. I finished trying on clothes. Found green pants a white skort and a black pencil skirt. Went back into Save a lot alone, found a few more things. Jim came to pick me up, it was just starting to get dark. We had some dinner. Jim and I put the golf cart in the hole, mainly Jim. He made a fire, I went in, it was cold.
Tomorrow we move to Orlando.
By then it was dark we took her back to the hotel And got back to the RV Was way after 7. Had to wait for an armadillo to pass in front of us in the campground as we got home .
Wish I took a picture. We had an adorable waiter, I had swordfish and grilled vegetables , Jim had a mini filet and scallops and grilled vegetables , Brigitte had Cod in a lemon sauce with rice and asparagus , it was delicious Three of us shared a piece of key lime pie . Jim had a bluefin Margarita , She had a Strawberry one .
