Boondocking #2 Church

Boondocking #2 Church

Friday August 18, 2023

This morning we woke up about 6:37 a.m. Jim got the generator going and we put the coffee on. The battery was at 73%. Jim said it went down more than the last time.
We watch the weather, rain is on the way. Luckily there's no check out today so we can leave when the rain says it's appropriate. I got things together I made us breakfast and packed a lunch for later.
 Then the rains came.
Jim was picking up the the wood he drove on to help level.
They said it was quick moving, which it was. By 10:30 it was beautiful out. We were in a pretty good puddle in the back where we parked, Jim got wet feet, lol.
Jim didn't want me to, but I used it to my advantage to rinse off the dirt on  the bottom of the camper and squeegee. All before pulling out.

We only drove 51 miles today. To another church.
We parked went into the office. The lady gave us a welcome paper and told us where to park. She invited us to a campfire they are having up on the hill tonight with s'mores. That is so nice.. They have one every 2 weeks in the summer.
There was plenty of room so Jim made a big circle in the driveway and backed up next to the barn.
There was an electric outlet there. It was so tempting to ask if we could use it, but we didn't.
Then we decided just to eat lunch. Then he got level and unhooked got the generator going eventually. Then we took the truck up the road and got diesel.
This water run off was so tempting.
It was very hot and humid out for awhile. Jim said what are you 12. I said NO 8. I just couldn't stay out of it.
I made salads for dinner, which Jim wasn't interested in salad again. Later I made him a grilled chicken and cheese sandwich. We sat outside alot.
Then we went up to the fire they had.
It was lovely and everybody was very welcoming. The whole time different people were talking with us. We stayed till about 8:30.
Watched a little TV before bed, Jim shut the generator off and we went to bed. He wants an early start tomorrow.
I worked on the blog a bit. The internet is great here too.

  1. I wish I knew about Boondockers Welcome when we were fulltiming. We were Harvest Host members the first year it was founded back around 2011. There were so few hosts available at that time that we never renewed membership. Glad you are able to make good use of your membership.
