We have big plans for today. I was up early, but didn't get going to quickly. I sorted laundry and Jim took notice of a strip along the back kitchen slide was bent at the top.. The neighbor was out Jim talked to him a bit.. He showed it to me and the guy gave Jim a rubber mallet. He got the ladder out and flatten it in a bit. He will put screws in later. I had a salad ready to go so I packed everything up. We decided Jim would get a bite out on the road.
So we headed out for Lighthouse #1,
which was the Rockland Breakwater lighthouse.
We recently saw some YouTube videos of Finding our Someday, They're from Maine and they recommended a few places that we wanted to try today.
Crazy walking in it, you really have to watch where you step..
Jim walked out on a platform, a little scary looking. Just beautiful, but my neck did get a little bit of sunburn today.
You can walk on water, sort of. This 8 foot square tower atop a fog-signal house sits at the end of a 7/8 mile-long granite-block pier. The breakwater is comprised of 768,774 tons of granite.
On the way back took 20 minutes to walk.
On the way out a guy was jogging, and kept stopping to do push-ups. Eventually he walked out on the ramp to the left and had a rubber raft tied to it with a motor. He got on it and went out to a yacht just off the lighthouse. You could see his black and white dog walking around in the back when he returned.
So many boats and sail boats too.
Lunch stop nice place to sit and eat on lobster crate chairs
I wanted Jim to find something to eat. Few places looked interesting, but no room to pull in with the truck. So Jim ended up eating a couple oatmeal cookies and I ate my salad.
Owls Head is the headquarters of the American Lighthouse Foundation. Although the cylinder white brick Tower is relatively short just 30 ft and stands on a high cliff so it's light is 100 ft above sea level.
Also recommended by Finding our Someday. He had a burger and it was an amazing view there on the water for lunch.
Then we went to a lighthouse #3 Marshall Point Lighthouse.
A museum in the Keeper's House explorers the history of the lighthouse and life on the St George peninsula. In the movie Forrest Gump, Tom hanks' character concludes his cross country run on Marshall Point lighthouses distinctive long wooden Runway.
This was probably the shortest walk of the day and a very small lighthouse.
Then we ended the tour at Hannaford's grocery store. They're you can get fresh lobsters and they steam them for you.
So we had them do 4, we found a few other things at the store. $130 later, we headed out.
The lobsters were super hot yet. We stopped and Jim got diesel. Then the very last stop was supposed to be a produce stand but they had closed, Jim was happy about that.
Jim had a lot to do besides bringing everything in. We'll we both did, And now it was almost 7:00 p.m.
He put a couple screws in the RV strip that he straightened before we left, while it was still daylight then he cleaned four lobsters, his lesson really helped yesterday from the family from Quebec. He's probably an expert now.
He forgot to wear his lobster Bib.
I still had all the laundry sorted up in the bathroom so I started a load. I got three done by the end of the night. Two more tomorrow upon arrival at our new location.
Then he brought everything in I had put a lobster mac and cheese in the oven that I found at Aldi's, pretty good, we added extra Lobster to it and I made some lobster rolls with the rest.
We shared one tonight, was so late now, and we'll have some for our arrival at our next site tomorrow. We will be there for a week..
After we ate we stacked up all the garbage and took it up to the dumpster.
Then we watched Naked And Afraid Castaway. I tried to put as much away as possible for tomorrow's departure. Then we got ready for bed and Jim went up first. As he likes to listen to the dryer when he goes to bed. First time he could do that in a while.
