Goodbye Mississippi Hello Louisiana

Jim was up first on this 2nd travel day. We had great water views, this place will be nice when finished. But small, and a little close to the road.

We left about 10 am, this morning. We crossed the 20 mile bridge Louisiana Airborne Memorial  Bridge,  just after Batton  Rouge. About 3/4 of the way there is I 10 rest area, we made a quick, 1 time stop there.

We went total 199 miles today. We had a couple of quick heavy stop and start showers right before we pulled into CG.

We arrived at the Lafayette KOA around 2. Got a quick peek at the Easter Bunny.

Found our spot. Was hot and humid.  Was a little tight. We had alot of people watching. Some came over to ask how big we are etc. Before we even unhooked, not cool. Today again truck did great.

I heated up leftovers for lunch. Got set up. Still keeping our problem slide in. 

We went for a walk around the park. Bigger then I thought, and the highway is right behind us.

When we got back a lady stopped and said she saw Jim and his Hair, she had to follow us, she knew a guy that looks just like him She thought, and he is 25.

We all talked together almost 2 hours. Her daughter and her boyfriend were with her. She couldn't believe that she was going to tell us that.

They were so nice, she said now you have family in Louisiana. Sweet thanks Gina

When they left was after 7 by then. Heated up leftover dinner from the other night.

We showered and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

This am Jim was up first, I just wasn't ready yet. When I got up, still nervous about our travel day.

Jim took the truck down and said we were leaving and payed for our extra day.

We pulled out just after 9:30. Jim kept looking under truck checking for leaks. All is good.

We only stopped once at a rest area. For a potty break on I 10 in Alabama WELCOME Center. First we went back into Florida then back to Alabama. 

Morris actually called while we were driving to check in to see how we were. Almost made me cry when I hung up. That was so sweet of him.

We had a few long bridges and a tunnel to go under.

We arrived at Camp David Campground, Biloxi Mississippi around 2. Still under Construction here, no one around to check in. We got backed in unhooked and did electric. We have a great view out the back.  Put BR slide out. A couple drove by, I saw there PA plates. They saw ours and they walked over to say hi.

Then we went to Applebee's for our late lunch or early dinner. I called the next 2 parks we are going to a KOA tomorrow and Lake Conroe,  to push them both back a day.. Food Was so good, so happy to be there. My brother Drew called to check in too.Then we got diesel and filled up gas can to refill the genny. Then went to Wal-Mart trying to find pierogies for Easter dinner, so far can't find them.

The weird thing is I can't get rid of the smell of diesel in my head, since we had to spend the night in that rest area.

We arrived back here, put the kitchen slide out. Then we walked down to sit by the water. There was chairs and a grill there. Then this guy walking down to us introduced himself, he was the owner. Very nice,  he welcomed us, complemented our RV. He was telling us of the big plans he has for the place. I asked about the grill, he said it's ours to use. Great. We got some chicken yesterday I wanted to grill, but alot of work to get it out of rig. So nice doing it down by the water.

This is still under Construction but going to be a bar and restaurant.

Then we walked around to the other side of CG. Took alot of pictures here. We got everything put away went in later after dark and watched a little bit of new. I took a shower before bed. Jim went up first.

I woke up at 6 a.m. got  out of bed quietly at 6:25. Came downstairs and started the coffee. Jim's phone rang at 7:04. The Ford dealer called and said our parts are in. So I texted Morris that they were in. I said I would put the coffee on for him. Thats good see ya in a few.  And then we waited. Assuming he was coming sooner than later. He never said. 

When Jim got up he was excited with the news, but then we waited. We were hoping to be all finished and go for lunch in the truck and get diesel. But lunchtime came and went, so I made us quesadillas.

I called the Ford dealer to see if he had picked up the parts yet. He did NOT. OMG. Waiting  Jim said he needed to pick them up by 6 pm.

I did text him, he called back and said he would be here. He is a hard working guy.

 Jim's young friend was out talking to him for a while. 

We walked around sat on the rocking chairs down on the porch at the big house / hotel.  Talked to an older couple walking by that we're renting a house. They have a campervan on order oh, they said they loved our home. 

Then we talked to a man that had both of his legs in full length braces. Drove truck and he was squished between a truck and a wall. It's amazing he's walking. We chatted for quite a while the three of us. He saw us get towed in Sunday. He said he was going to come over and see if we were okay. But he always saw somebody was here. 

So what now, It was getting close to dinner time. We still haven't heard from Morris. 

We were sitting outside for awhile once it cooled off.

He called said he was coming, just as he pulled up.

He showed Jim the parts, he worked on it till well after dark. He still wanted his coffee..He had his girlfriend with him. She was helping too.. Got the parts on, but then there was a fuel leak somewhere. He kept working. They test drove it a few times. Morris even went with Jim once, he wanted to drive. I asked Jim how does my side feel. Different. They had to jump his car, with the truck, the battery was dead. Then

Ok it appears we are back in business.

He only wanted 150.00 total, we thought would be more. He was here 3 times total I think. We thanked him. Never took any pictures today.

Still so scary. 

We left, got fuel 137.  Ouch. Went to Arby's quick. He was starving. Then Wal Mart quick. Weird driving in the dark. Got home right before 10 pm. With the hour time difference not to bad.

Put everything away, what a relief.

I hope it doesn't take me long to stop being scared.

Today we spent the day waiting and waiting. After lunch I  decided to call the Ford dealer where we ordered the parts from. He said they usually get about 25 boxes in. Today they only got a few. So no Parts Today.

So yesterday we were pretty bummed didn't feel like doing anything. Today I forced myself to do some things. First I vacuumed. Did the bath rugs first.

 Then we walked over to the laundry room. It really is nice.. Put the rugs in, Jim went to get his green TT cleaning cloths. Then half way through washing the rugs, I took them out and put his green towels in. Rinceed and spun out together. One load was 2.50. And you could use quarters, alot of laundry rooms now you have to get a laundry card. It was so nice and breezy it all dryed outside quickly. They had soda and snack mashine there. He was going to get a diet Pepsi but they only had regular. So he got a diet dr pepper. Gross. Also he got some beef jerkey.

Today this is all I have, but this really has always bothered me. I said to Jim why do they install the outlets like this, why can't they make it so the cord can hang down straight. He said it is stupid too.

So after all the excitement of the laundry. We changed and washed the sheets. Later we went for a walk.

 Jim took both toilet seats off, so I could give them a proper clean in the shower..  I guess that I probably did a few more things. Who knows

I made unfried chicken mashed potatoes with spinach, onions, bacon and cheese also some green beans for dinner.

We had a drink opened the Mexican mudslide,  had 1 before bed.

We are here just waiting till the first guy we called that called us back, Morris.  We waiting quite a while.

I suggested we call someone else just incase, felt we needed a back up plan.

We talked to one guy, he sounded promising, he said he could have one of his guys stop on there way home tonight. I said have a guy, but just incase he is a no show. So he suggested I text back, if Morris doesn't show up today. He will have a guy stop to try and diagnosed what's wrong with the truck in the morning. OK good plan.

Jim was looking at the truck, said he was looking for something obvious.

I was trying to relearn the line dance on the outside TV, called Lonely Drum. Found a good teacher. Was fun but got a little hot out.

We called and talked with Len and Phyllis East. I love them so much. We shared what was going on. They are about 240 miles away. Len got on the phone and said if you need us call. He said he would come and get us if we need him too. So amazing they are. I cry when I talk about him. We thanked him so much, but what do you even say to someone so generous. We hope it doesn't come to that. If it did we probably would have to just live there then forever, lol.

He finally called us back, he had to go get a load of rocks. Then he said he would stop. OK

So he arrived with another guy. He was under the hood. He started it, it started. WOW

He saw one injector was loose. He said he would come back tomorrow am to fix. Sounds great ok.

Talked with our neighbors we both had pet therapy. He was SO sweet.

Later we went for a walk while I had dinner in the oven. We walked up the road, said hi to a couple walking towards us, I saw he had a Lebanon Rails To Trail T shirt on. I said  hey. We started talking. Probably way over an hour. He is a reverse snow bird he said, doesn't want to drive in snow, but we goes to Colorado and places in PA, he teaches skiing.

She line dances too. They are going to TTO.

There name's are Les and Joan Bucher from Pottstown. I really enjoyed talking with them, we shared stories of life on the road. They are full-time too, 4 years.

We said goodbyes was almost dark. I had nothing with me, I said that I would bring one of my cards back after we ate. So I did then. I made us 6 cookies my paleo chocolate chip cookies made with almond flour. I took them a couple.. She thanked me, I said hope we see you again down the road. They might be in Hershey later this year.

We were up pretty early. There is an hour time difference. Messed me up, I try to ignore it. I started breakfast a little later. And Morris showed up around 9. Jim went out they chatted.

 Jim offered him coffee and breakfast. I had just made chocolate chip and blueberry muffins he took him one of each and a big mug of coffee. Jim offered him a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. While I made it Morris was under the hood. Later after he ate. He had to run to Wal-Mart for a tool. Jim thought he he had one, but some things he can't get to because of the golf cart.  Then he found one of the brackets that hold one of the injectors was bent and broken off. Here's a picture of it.

I hope that's all their is. Together they called a place to order a set. They will be able tomorrow. He will pick it up tomorrow and put it in.

He stayed a bit and chatted. Was asking us questions asked about my one flower pot, the golf cart, and how long we have been full time. He asked us if we ever went next door they have slot machines.  He left and said see a ya tomorrow.

So we walked over at noon. Took nice view of the RV.

They only open at 2, was hoping they had food for lunch. Came home ate leftover mac and cheese and veggies from last night.

Then we walked over said we would be here for another night. Hopefully we can leave Thursday.

They have a beautiful lobby and we got to see 3 of the rooms. 

They also have these cute little houses to rent.

We walked over next door. What a disappointment, no food just smokey big room with game machines. They were nice and helpful explained alot. We did not stay long.

Later I made taco's and taco salad for dinner. I did this, watched news. He watched TV outside.

This am ran the genny for the last time to top off the battery bank. Put heat on was 45 degrees outside. Did coffee, quick breakfast in MW. Then Tow truck arrived at 8.
