Unintentional campground shopping

Unintentional Campground shopping

Wednesday November 29, 2023
This morning after breakfast, we saw this fifth wheel across from us leaving. They had a motorcycle, that we never seen being transported in this way before. Usually it's a in a toy hauler, on the back of an HDT, or in the bed of the truck, if they tow a trailer. This one had the back tire on the ground, behind the RV, looks like it would tip over, especially on a turn.
Jim worked on making some copies for me on our printer for No BS paperwork I needed.
Then we went for a walk around through the jungle. Jim was taking pictures of me today. Still watching for gators. See gator warning signs.
As we walked home there was a ranger at the gate, which we never see here. We had talked about firewood in the area, they don't sell any here. But we noticed right inside the campground at their huge fire bowl that they have. There was firewood all around it, the Ranger was telling us how some guy took down a couple trees and brought it in and donated it to the campground. He said it was only cut down 3 weeks ago. We were afraid it would smoke a lot, because it is probably to green yet. But he said people were more than welcome to take a little bit of it till it was gone. That was really nice. We had a lovely chat with him.
Then later we went for a golf cart ride after lunch. We stopped and got a little bit of the firewood too. I think it will go fast. All that's left is in the fire bowl.
The TV outside hasn't been working for a long time. There is a picture, but no sound. Can't do anything with the volume.
This lady had a 32 inch one for sale, along with the Roku for $30. We stopped and looked at it, the one he has outside is 40 in. It's a little smaller than he wanted, but couldn't pass it up for the price. Especially now since hockey is starting up again. Well it did 2 months ago...
We unintentional went shopping, driving around in the golf cart. Two years ago we bought our Berkey here in the same way, and 3 years ago found the Cricket golf cart here too. We were sitting on the front porch, she drove up to get her mail in it . I told her I liked her golf cart,  and she said you want to buy it. I said " YES I Do." Here we are shopping in it now . We went back to the RV, got $30 and went back.
Had a nice chat with her, she pretty much guaranteed it worked, I said "I know where you live, if it doesn't " lol, They got a bigger TV on a black Friday sale. Which we were going to do, but didnt.
We carefully drove it back to the RV. That will be a work in progress for him. Installing it, and to set up the new Roku.
He put the new TV in the truck, a project for tomorrow.
Now that it is getting dark, so early. Most every night we're settled in by 6:00 pm, unless we have something fun planned. We have dinner and watching a favorite show or two.

After breakfast a little bit later in the morning Jim went outside to work on the TV project. It took him a little longer to get the Roku set up to work. It still thinks we're in Lebanon County. Which might be a good thing. Because after 3 months it limits your viewing, and restricts usage in your new location, away from our Lebanon County home base. He removed the larger television, and put the new one in. When you see them next to each other you realize the two TVs were vastly different in size. But we agreed that it's better than nothing. We couldn't argue with the price of it. As he was installing it, I did my best to help.
I saw the neighbor behind us had a beautiful black Doberman, and two smaller dogs. I said we should go say hi. I did holler over and say hi and that the dog was beautiful. After he was finished I said can we go say hi and he said reluctantly okay.
We walked over asking if it was  OK, said hi, the dog was very friendly, but they're two little yapping dogs thought they were they were the Doberman.
We had a nice chat with them. They had to hold the one back.
After that we went back to the camper and a pick up truck drove by. They pulled over and said hi. They are  switch crew, and they saw our garden flag.
It was Ayran and Paul McIntosh.
It was our first time meeting them, they just attended their first Huddle at the 3rd one held at Talona Ridge in Ellijay Georgia.
We had a lovely quick chat they are formally from Colorado, now from  Arizona, they are full-time too. We plan to get together with them later in the week,  we look forward to that. I gave her my card, so we can set up a time later. We said our goodbyes.
Jim got ready for his first hockey game outside on the new TV.
He  prepared his first campfire here. He will be using some of the wood from the campground here we retrieved yesterday. Plus he bought a couple small expensive bundles at the hardware store in Wauchula.
I got dinner ready, and served him outside and he ate before his game started.
I watched a few shows inside that he's not as crazy about. Also a lot of RV, YouTube videos.

  1. Just a bit ago we were saying we wish we had a Cricket like you. Maybe we stopped camping too soon and missed all those good deals.
