This morning I went to walk fit and line dance for 2 hours. Came home had a quick lunch.
Then we went outside and saw a couple walk by looking at the truck. Jim actually started talking to them first. He's actually what we've been calling a " real truck driver. " LOL
He was explaining to us how he has the opportunity to buy the Kenworth truck he uses from his employer. As they are buying him a new one, and he wanted to use his truck to pull their fifth wheel. His wife wasn't as keen on it, and I said do it.
She wanted to see the truck, so I took her inside, we had a lovely chat. And we invited them to our campfire tonight with Switch Crew.
They changed the filters we ordered, greased the front end, I'm sure there's other things they did. Not even sure if Jim knows it all.
As we were watching them do that a red-headed sand crane came through our site and must have been very thirsty and was drinking the water we catch to water flowers.
Later after everybody left Jim and I ran to Publix and bought more firewood beer and chips for tonight.
Campfire Necessities I guess.
Later Jim and I had dinner and everyone joined us for a campfire. Pam and Scott arrived first, later their daughter and son-in-law joined us. Carol and Pat were there Bob and Shelly from Nova Scotia too and Toni and Rob. Lisa and Chris left before the picture was taken.
We wanted to introduce Bob and Shelly to Pam and Scott, they are both from Nova Scotia. Somehow they realized that in our conversation about the HDT. That they were at a campground and wanted to stay an extra day and they were told someone was coming in on the site they were in. They actually took a picture of them when they arrived. So Bob and Shelly just met Scott and Pam, but she realized they had a picture of their HDT, and they knew some of the same people from Canada.
They were all shocked about that one. It was pretty amazing.
Later it drizzled a little bit and we all piled underneath the awnings. It didn't last very long and we resumed our space around the campfire.
What a lovely time we had getting to know our switch crew family even more. And introducing more people to this great group.

This morning we woke up and got coffee and breakfast going quickly wanted to be ready to have the yard sale at our site here from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00.
I got a text from Lisa, that we met last night. They went on a bike ride and she was paranoid they left a candle burning inside there fifth wheel. She asked me to go over and check to see if I can see a flame through the window. So I jumped in the golf cart and went on the other side of the campground where they're parked. All is well, the candle was out. She thanked me for checking on them and hope we see them again soon.
She promised not to burn candles in the RV anymore. She told me yesterday, that was the only thing her and Chris didn't agree on about being on the road, was on the scent of the candles. So that is an easy fix, stop burning them inside the RV, I just don't think it's safe. We have seen to many RV fires, aftermath.
We had a great yard sale, it was very warm in the Sun. Jim did a great job. He did sell our heavy pancake air compressor. We no longer need it, because the truck has a built in air compressor.
He also sold a couple of our Birds. He really likes them, but just have too many things to carry around as full-timers.
When the yard sale was over, and after lunch, Jim and I took a golf cart ride, saw the RV were our 2 birds are now.
Two of the 3 birds he sold, we still have one, the orange one was broken too.
I said STOP, They were just going out on a bike ride with her cute little dog. They said they were going to be work camping this season in Michigan.
Then we saw Sam ( our 83 year old friend) he was next door hanging out with some friends, got to talk with him and his wife Irene for a bit. As Scott and Pam drove by later. Then we went back home and had dinner relaxed from the busy day.
Waffle Sunday March 11, 2024
I decided to make a big batch of waffles today since I was out and have plenty of freezer space now.
Still trying to figure out what to make for our end of the season potluck for our line dancers and walk fit friends. Had an idea to make pigs in the blanket and take the chips and leftover dip, since I didn't use them Friday night.
Jim was nice enough to go to the store and grab some hot dogs and crescent rolls to make them. I stayed home and got some stuff done.
Realizing today was the last day of the Strawberry Fest, bummed we just didn't make it this year and I really wanted to go.
We had a great meal together.
We left a bit before dark. Drove golf cart home, relaxing the rest of the evening.
You've definitely had a busy time with friends. Jim will learn a lot about the truck, the more he works on it. Like the picture of the Crane Family.
