Indiana here we come

Indiana here we come

Tuesday September 26, 2023

We were up early this morning. We filled up with diesel after we pulled out. We only had less than 3 hour drive,  arriving at Twin Mills Thousand Trails in Indiana.
We checked in, had reservations for four nights. We explained to them we are leaving first thing tomorrow morning for RV repair in Goshen.  We may or may not be back.
Twin Mills Thousand Trails
We had a pull through site.
We got situated. Then we took off to go do some errands in Michigan.
First we got diesel fuel, then went into Meijer, my new favorite store in Michigan. They have anything and everything there. Jim found the curtains that we hung in the back of the RV at the sofa, last year.
Then we went into The Dude. We're we met the twins last year.
The skies looked angry, we knew the rains were coming so we headed back to the RV.
Heated up dinner later and relaxed on our bed watching TV. We got some great channels here.
It's funny because we haven't had this TV on in the bedroom for probably a couple years. Now we've used it a few times. It's a lot more comfortable than sitting on the sofa,  We can't get to it now anyway.
I did a zoom call with my group. I stood by the fridge for that.

Wednesday September 27, 2023

This morning we were up before daylight. It went quicker with only having one slide out. We left at 8:10
Heading to Affinity RV group in Goshen, about a 45 minute drive from Twin Mills, Thousand Trails.

We pulled into Affinity RV group, and were greeted by new employee Tammy. Rod one of the owners that has been so fantastic to us pulled in. He said  "I didn't know you were coming in today."  I'm sure he's thrilled, but was trying to be happy. Lol,  Not really what I wanted to hear.
Then his head guy Bob came over, with Tammy. We call him the gum chewer.
We talked about our issues. He told us to drop the camper there and they would get it into a bay shortly.
So weird to leave it there. But we know that it's in good hands. I just don't like to watch them back it in.
So we headed out to do some errands.

Went to Johnson Surplus, Jim needed a plug to make a short cord for the generator, to the new receptacle he put in, to make boondocking easier for him.
Then we went to Menards, they have my favorite Shasta diet lime lemon soda. I can't find it anywhere else. I got four 12 packs in the cart, before he started yelling, " where are we going to put that." Lol.
I also found my new favorite floor cleaner for the hardwood floor in the RV. They had the cleaner I never used it before, and the Polish that makes it Shine so beautiful.
Affinity is very hard on your floors. So they need cleaned every time the guys are in here. Jim said that wouldn't fly where he worked, he had to wear shoe booties. I wish I had some cardboard to lay down.
Then we went to Taco Bell.
Then I walked around...Aldi's
Then we came back to Affinity.
We sat in the truck and waited for an update.
Bob walked over and explained they needed to order 2 limit switches for our problem slide and we're going to rewire it, with heavier gauge wire. They Express shipped it overnight to arrive tomorrow morning. They would pull us out of the Bay, so we could stay in our rig tonight. We had a few neighbors this time. We chatted briefly with them.
Everyone leaves pretty much by 4:00 p.m. or so Jim got the Ninja out and grilled some chicken for dinner.
We enjoyed a great chicken meal with the last of the pasta salad and zucchini pie, in our recliners, we have missed them.
We will wait for the part to be shipped in tomorrow....

  1. If you have limited beverage storage, who wins. Your soda or Jim's beer.
