Travel Day to Patten Pond

Travel Day to Patten Pond

Monday August 21, 2023

This morning we leave Sea Swell Campground in Camden Hill Maine and we got ready and headed out to Patten Pond near Bar Harbor a Trails collection Campground.
I was packing up and trying to be on time I was just about ready at 10:00 a.m. and Jim said we didn't have to leave for another hour. So I found some things to do, then we headed out about 11:10 a.m..
I  had to watch close as Jim pulled out with so many trees.
The neighbor in the Prevost was helping to watch one that was particularly close. They were packing to leave too.
We had a very short drive today. Checking into Patten Pond is 1:00 p.m.
We are a little early, so we pulled into  a Scenic Overlook.
It was a beautiful view of the bridge and a sign saying how you can go to the top and also visit Fort Knox. We haven't heard anything about this. Have to look into it.
We chatted with people from Canada,
she couldn't get over how big our RV was.
There RV
The Prevost people passed us as we were there.
Bridge as we drove over it.
We pulled out about 12:30 and arrived to the campground. Half a mile driveway in.
Pulled in went to check in, we already are assigned to site number 508 before we arrived. Which was nice, it's a little open and no trees above us. Although they are nice for shade. Love hate with trees.
Crazy they had huge decorative rocks all around. Not cool in a Campground people.
We tried to get situated, but one landing leg wouldn't come down.
Jim did some troubleshooting to figure out what was wrong.
A wire broke so he fixed it.
after
It was after 1:30 I quickly tried to get food as we were starving. Then we put all three slides out, first time since we left the cabin. Hopefully we have no problems, getting our problems slide in.
After lunch we so enjoyed sitting in our recliners.
We made pizza on the Ninja and ate outside. Was lovely out.
Later we went for a walk around the campground as it was almost dark by now. Came back and rested in our chairs for the night.
