Had lunch on the water

Had lunch on the water.

Thursday April 21, 2022

This morning we had a slow start like usual. Jim was up first, he has been lately. Later around Noon we were ready to set out for an adventure. I really have been wanting to do something big and FUN.

I wanted to go line dancing, and horseback riding somewhere oh, we are in Texas after all. I looked a few of them up, one had line dancing lessons today, but it was almost an hour away. I knew he wouldn't go for that. So we set out to the Restaurant that Kerri  recommended, where are we got the starter put on.
We went to Monty's Lighthouse and had lunch on the water oh, well next to the water. Had a great view it was Breezy.
I asked for an umbrella to shade from the Sun. At one point the whole thing lifted up and out luckily didn't hit anyone. I took a picture of our lunch, but pic was blurry, we shared, it was fried catfish, crawfish tails, shrimp, and chicken fingers with fries. We took some of  the french fries home and the fingers. I'll slice them up later and make sandwiches with them with bacon and cheese, BBQ sauce and Grill them another day.
Then  we went down to the water and walked on pier there was a big circle cut out on the dock, it said NO fishing and there is a thing to feed the fish.
Those white lines are hungry mouths, waiting. You can see there whiskers too.
As soon as you walked over and they can see you this big carp showed up first, above . And then a whole mess of catfish. This is view walking back. Restaurant on far left.
I walked back to the truck to get some quarters. There was a little family that showed up. They didn't have any quarters either so when I got back I gave them two and we had two, as soon as you start throwing the fish food in they came out like crazy. We sat and watched the water for a while.
Watched boats coming and going. Lake Conroe is huge it is 32 square miles. Here's a picture of the map they had at the dock. Jim was trying to figure out where the CG would be on the map.
Jim's leg was still hurting but we walked down till almost the end and came up into the parking lot and walk down to the truck. Cool sign, how HOT 🔥 do you like it.
Beautiful flowers,

On the drive we passed this truck.
Next  after we left we went to HEB. That store is huge reminds me of a Wegmans that they have back in PA. They have everything oh, I could have walked around for 2 hours, if I was alone.
They had a chef that was cooking rice with gumbo and spinach salad with feta and strawberries with dressings they were selling.
We each had a tasting of it.  Good

After we left there we went to Sam's Club. Found a few things I wanted a few things I couldn't find. We bought a huge pork loin for a 1.98 a pound. We are going to smoke it when we get to Camp Femfo and have a pre huddle party,  with smoked pork barbecue sandwiches. Will be a lot of fun.
Of course it was getting to the hour where Jim is soon starving. We got back to the campground and drove right to the food truck it was called Spud N it up.
This is what we ordered Jim had a potato texas-sized with pork sour cream cheese butter. I had a pork quesadilla which I saved most of it for tomorrow.
Then we got back to the RV put everything away. We brought the food back and ate inside. By now it was 6:30 ish spent the rest of the night putting things away took a shower and did our normal lazy night routine.
