Tampa RV Show Day #2

Tampa RV Show Day #2
Thursday January 18, 2024

This morning we got up around 7:00 got ready for the day had breakfast.
Right across the road from us, a guy stopped with the trumpet. He played the Star-Spangled Banner. RV Show campout wake up call.
We opened the door and clapped.
Went out and talked to the crew. We didn't get over to the RV Show till 11:00 a.m. today we decided to do some scouting.
We wanted to check out a few different items we wanted. First we scouted out what we wanted to eat for our lunch tomorrow, important stuff, and put it on my plan.
We looked at some very small RV's for one person in my accountability group.

We also saw some switch crew buying a rug I wanted last year. It goes inside the door and holds gallons of water and mud,  helps keep your floors clean. Small rug is $50,  don't think they were that much last year, so that's on my list.
We need to find something to get the sap off the camper from our Maine trip.
I also wanted to check out the sofa I found from last year. Here it is. Then we walked around for awhile.
Then we went home for lunch, rested a bit.
Then we went back to the Escapees booth, we were meeting Robin and Larry there.
We met in Peace River, they were interested in having us work the Hershey RV show in September, when they found out that we are from Pennsylvania. Thought I had a picture of them.
We spent a couple hours hanging out with them, it was a lot of fun, we'll have a little bit of a learning curve. We renewed our membership and we will learn more about being an Escapees  member ourselves. They told us later they put our picture on the website.

I said HI to poop head, lol.
Last year / season this dome had food in it. This year it had drinks.
Then before we left. Back to the sofa bed, I've wanted for a year.
I talked with David and Heather then I saw what it said on the tag.
Pick up after Show. Jim walked away.. She said it was still available. I said
" you didn't sell it yet" she said we didn't try that hard.
OK, I told her we would be back tomorrow am. We would save over  $600. On shipping.
How can I pull this off.
Have to talk with Jim.
We were told we had to leave Sunday, they turn the electric off at noon. There's no way we can do it after then. We needed more details.

After that we went back to the rig and got ready for another night of fun.
Jim called an Uber, we had a quick bite to eat, we met him at the gate.
Went to Zydeco Brew Werks for Switch Crew Event featuring Ryan Harmon.
He was on American idol season 2018.
This place has a terrible setup, no microphone stand, like they told him they did. That's why the Mic was propped on the suitcases. You couldn't hear him downstairs either.
I was able to meet these people, found out they stopped with our friends in Alabama, Len and Phyllis.
It was so nice seeing Ryan again.
He is such a great singer song writer,  entertainer, and so funny.
He wrote a song for us, it's not finished yet. Love it !!

It's time for a change.
You can't grow by staying the same. It's a contribution for this Revolution, building community.
It's just one step closer to where we're meant to be.
It's not just a way of life, it's a FAMILY...
We got to hear from Todd and Sheila
It was a pain with the TV being projected on the wall, especially for pictures. They eventually did turn it off.
Todd and Sheila introduced everyone again that is a sponsor and helping with the RV Revolution,  and featured in the 10 part documentary series.

We had a lovely evening,  we went to the bathroom before we left.  Jim started talking to Jesse. He's the guy that did the hauler bed for Todd and Sheila on their HDT. Jim says he never starts a conversation in the bathroom. But he did this time, they were both a little tipsy. But he's keeping an eye out for a truck for us, in our mission profile. Hopefully, he remembers. LOL

Jim called another Uber. Had our first Tesla ride, we didn't get home till after 11:30. Hung with the Crew at the fire.
We watched the first RV Revolution documentary titled The Beginning. We were so excited that we were
Still awake at 1:00 a.m. such an exciting fun day.

  1. Glad I keep a spreadsheet of guests. They were here in May. And I always note something about the guests. He helped Len put up the Boondockers Welcome sign stating we are Hall of Fame hosts.
