Pirate Ship Cruise on the Bay

Pirate Ship Cruise on the Bay

Tuesday January 24, 2023

We left the campground and went to Tarpon Springs. We paid $5 to park for the day. And we got on the trolley to Clearwater Beach, it took an hour to get there, made a few stops on the way. Very nice drive, beautiful views, nice for Jim to be able to look around.
Beautiful building we passed along the way.
We were going to sit on the sugary white sands of Clearwater beach for awhile. That's how they describe on TV here. Thought about renting one of these.
What a huge job, setting up and taking all of this down everyday.

Then we walked for quite a while to find a place for lunch. We seen the same place we ate with his mom 2 years ago. They have a few different locations. We ended up picking the same place,  at a different one.
We had a second floor View and it  was very beautiful from up there. Was quite Breezy at the time.
We had and unintentionally, very expensive lunch at Crabby's Dockside. They had a special that was a lobster tail with your choice of seafood add-on for $10. Jim got the shrimp added on. I had a crab cake sandwich, we ended up sharing that too. He even asked the waiter, all that for 10. But somehow we miss the price was 60 with the 10  added to it.
We did share a slice of key line pie too, our favorite.
Anyway it was delicious and Jim said so worth it. But if we knew we wouldn't have done it.
Then we ended up getting on a pirate Cruise for 2 hours with all the beer wine or soda you could drink. Fun for adults and children, it was fantastic.
The young pirate's that worked on the ship were great. They kept all the kids busy, and having fun, and Jim always had at least 2 beers in front of him at all times.
The cute pirate boys greeting us at the bar upon boarding the ship.

Some beautiful views on the boat ride, Arrr maitey
I don't think I would want to be on that thing.
Jim getting another beer
I couldn't resist a picture with the pirate boy.

We met a nice young couple on vacation. Adam and Tarah from Wisconsin.  They told us of a bar in a hotel that had great 5.00 appetizers and had a contest every night on who takes the best sunset picture. Jimmy's Fish House.
They give everyone a nonalcoholic shot to do when the sunset clock goes off each night. Adam and Tarah showed up later, we said hi to them and chatted with them for a few minutes.
They had live music and I thought that this sign was funny. Only one like it, someone added Rip to the sign.
We sat at the bar per Adam's recommendation on getting served an appetizer. We quickly started to chat with the lady next to us, who is with her sister she now takes care of. They are from Michigan. She told us she had a small camper, that she is not good at backing up. Jim explained an easy way for her to try.
We talked of Switch it up, and she looked it up right away.
The lady above shared a sunset picture from last night, when Jim took ours at the campground. Tonight's wasn't good.
Later we got back on the trolley for our ride back to where the truck was parked. A little bit different ride going home it was after dark by now and a few local young guys. They were fine though they did chat with us the one guy did. We got back to the truck, I ended up driving the rest of the way home. Thought it was only 8 Miles Away,  what a great day we had.
