Not the best RV Day

Not the best RV Day

Things getting real....

Wednesday March 9, 2022

This was a great morning we did our normal routine. Then decided to take a golf cart ride and look around. We stopped at the Hearth where the fun happens. I went in to check activity board.. They were line dancing in there.
The schedule said Tuesday and Thursday they told me was changed to Monday and Wednesday. Jim was waiting in the golf cart. I did  dance one song with them. I said I will be back. Then we continued our ride.
This place is huge. We stopped so I could ask about doing glitter tattoo's Friday and Saturday with upcoming kid stuff. The lady Joyce said she would check into it and call me.

We decided to go back home and go to Oakwood Smokehouse for lunch. We got  ready and left after 12:30.

We had a wonderful lunch and took pork ribs sausage and FF along for tomorrow.  Talked with people sitting next to us. They were giving us ideas of fun things to do.. We left and went to Hobby Lobby, don't think Jim was ever in one. We loved funny signs and horse art.
I wanted some item's to do the glitter tattoo's. We left a alittle after 2 in the afternoon. We were going to drive around Lake Minneola then get a few groceries before we head home.
Well we turned off 27 near the citrus tower, and the truck shalled. He tryed to restart it but wouldn't start. He coasted to a turning lane. We realize that the fass fuel pump wasn't running and it just cranked trying to start.

It got so hot so quick in the truck. So now what, who do we call. I called our diesel guy at home for some advice. He was telling Jim check the fuse he was about to do. The 30 amp was blown. He walked to BP, 7 11 and Publix no one sells them. I called quite a few Auto Zone I think the 3rd one had a driver and they brought us some. As soon as he put it in it blew again. We thanked him, ok next idea.
We called so many places. The Auto and Truck Solutions had a tow guy that could come get us, in an hour and half We were in hot sunny area. I was afraid of getting burned. Couldn't sit in hot truck. We had to a few times, had a couple showers. I walked once to BP for water and potty. Jim did same later. Was SO hot. Jim ate the piece sausage so he could take his pill at 6, the rest will have to trash, will not be safe. Glad we didn't get groceries.

I texted Stewart and Sallie they were looking at houses today.. We talked with them a few times since we met.. The tow arrived right before it was getting dark.

We were able to get in truck with tow driver. Sallie called us back and said they would be more than happy to come for us. RV'ers are so nice. I thanked them said we would be in touch.

We had talked with Tommy Hassler our diesel guy in PA. He gave us more ideas what to try next.

We arrived at the place was tight unloading truck. Jim Had to climb up into it.

After was unloaded Jim talked with the guy. He told him what happened and what our guy said. He was seemingly very willing to try. I  long story of all the things they tried. He put new filters in,, He tryed a few more things. By now soon after 8 pm.
We determined we need new motor for the pump. The tow was 200. We made arrangements to get parts ordered. It needs oil change too before we head to Texas, so he will do that too. Probably be next Wednesday or so till it's ready.

Hopefully we can rent a car tomorrow Jim has Doctor appointment in Orlando area tomorrow.

I called Sallie and Stewart they came for us. Again was so nice of them. They had a mask for each of us. They are still very much Covid worried. So  we happily obliged, so happy they came for us. So very nice of them.. The mechanic offered to take us home, only had a two seater car, would have to make two trips.

We arrived around 9 pm. our heads spinning with all the unknowns. We were so mentally tired. What a day.
