Today we saw Jim's Mother

Today we saw Jim's Mother

Thursday May 4, 2023

Today we had a relaxing morning had breakfast and Jim called his mother later in the morning to set up a visit for today.
We had a lot of errands to do, no way we can get them all done today, but we got to start somewhere. I figured it would be in the middle of the day and we'd be ready for lunch, so I decided to pack up pasta salad the rest of the pizza from the other night. We could have a light lunch with his mom, at her place.. Then we took off and went and dropped off some refills to pick up at CVS. Stopped at the UPS store to get our mail. I ran into Michael's to look for two things, that was a waste of time.

^^    I always have my cup in pictures
Then we stopped with Jim's Mom. Mom hug, We heated up lunch and the three of us ate together. She was okay with the pizza, but didn't really want my pasta salad, so Jim had extra.
We had a nice visit, she's a little more forgetful than she was. She gave me a gift,  but wouldn't let me open it, she said open it later. She laughed she thought Jim's hair was so long.
Then we went to Palmyra to get my Mary Kay order.
Jim didn't want to, BUT we stopped at Country View, it is a little country Amish grocery store , very unique things, one of my favorites. I forgot we'd be going right by it, didn't want to spend a lot yet, but I did want to get salsa, it's made locally in Lebanon, has black beans and corn and a hint of barbecue sauce, it's fantastic, found a few other things. I told Jim I think I broke two records when I came out, one by being in for such a short time and also only spending $25.

Then we stopped back at CVS, Jim ran in to pick up the two refills.  I ran into Giants, a local PA grocery store, I had found a $25 gift card in the truck, just a couple days ago, when I was looking for something in there. The card was from work before we left. It was a nice find, we spent just over $28. Really just over 3.00. Grabbed the pills and then we were going to impulsively stop and get Chinese to take back to the RV. But the truck made a weird sound when he started it, so we just decided it was a sign not to eat out,  and went back to the campground.

Upon arrival we brought everything in and I told Jim I realized the electric was off. I guess that's why we were not supposed to eat Chinese,  get back here to take care of this situation.

I called the ranger station but no one answered and I left a message, then we walked up the road,  a few people were out on the other side of the road they had Electric, but on our side, we realized there was a guy working on the pedestal of this motorhome, he said his wife was the membership specialist here.
They also had no electric. Monitor said we had a faulty ground. Jim had checked everything out before we walked up. It was even saying the same thing on our neighbor's pedestal, they weren't plugged in, it's a permanent site, no one's here though. The guy felt like the last RV that checked in a short time ago, when he plugged in, is when everything went wonky. So somebody went and talked to the guy and when he unplugged the guys RV,
which was a beautiful Super C. Everything was fine, but as soon as that guy plugged back in,, it made everybody with a surge protector say faulty ground.

As we walked back and forth on the road waiting to figure out what was going to happen. I was looking at this flower bed that I had planted two hostas in,  probably 2 years ago now,, they look like they're doing great. The second one is behind a rock.
I tried to open the door and see if the manager was in there yet, but the door was locked. But to my great surprise on the kitchen counter, right inside the door was a huge box that said Ninja woodfire grill. Can't wait to find out who ordered that. Would love to talk with them.
So later the electrician that was working said the manager was going to come up and tell the people they were going to have to move, because something in their RV was messing with a few of us.
I had to change dinner plans, everything was ready, but I wanted to use the microwave and Jim was going to grill a steak. By now it was after 6:00 so I just switched things up, GET IT,  and made a wonderful dinner salad with cold grilled chicken, which was fabulous. I even made a smaller one to have for tomorrow's lunch at the same time, might as well make four.

Later one of the employees stopped by, talked with Jim and we reconfirmed with her that once his rig was plugged in, our surge protector said faulty ground. She told us they were going to have to move.

Later we found out they moved them up on the hill to a spot that didn't connect with any other pedestals. So they could do whatever.
We came in together and had our salad for dinner, everything's back on and we had a great night of Naked and Afraid Solo on TV.

Friday May 5, 2023

What a great night. Jim was up first this morning he makes such wonderful coffee. I was up at 8:00 we enjoyed coffee and wonderful TV this morning.
The only problem we noticed last night was our neighbors heat pump apparently makes a lot of noise throughout the night. But to our surprise this am we looked out,  he packed up and pulled out.
Now it's really quite.
Then I made Jim a breakfast sandwich with the brochen we took my mother-in-law yesterday. We bought her 10 and now she said she doesn't want them all. Geez, So Jim had one this morning with eggs I had my usual oatmeal and Greek yogurt. After I made the bed he was going to shower and decided we'll take a walk together first.

Then we saw one of the Rangers here that has an older Lifestyle fifth wheel, chatted with them and I went inside and looked at the Ninja box again. The lady's name was Rebecca something. I wanted to put one of my cards on it and write that we had one too,  and would love to chat. But I couldn't find a pen I looked everywhere. Jim was outside waiting for me to walk,  and I went out and he was talking to the Ranger and I asked him for a pen. He shared one with me and I told him what I was doing. But he doesn't know Rebecca.
I had walked through the whole building when I was looking for the pen, and I saw this picture on the wall. We had donated it to PA Dutch a while back and they decided to hang it on the wall inside, which was lovely. It was when we went to the Grand Canyon, with Elk everywhere in 2019,  I had one picture blown up like a poster.
Then we went for a nice walk around the park,  it's pretty empty right now, the permanence aren't here yet just like they were not present in Virginia either, too early I guess. Jim thinks it will be full this weekend though.

My Mother always liked these flowers.
There's an older guy here that has a permanent spot that loves to make Little Gnome houses. They're so cute.
Check it out Dee, you getting any idea's. She's a friend that likes Gnomes.
We walked through the path in the woods. Then we got back to the fifth wheel by now it was noon. I was ready for lunch, so I finished the rest of the salads and got them ready. Jim decided he was going to be a wonderful hubby this morning and worked on a project that we recently started. He was making me a frame for these pictures I had on the wall.
He did a great job now I just have to put a little paint on it.
Turned out pretty good.
Then we had lunch together inside. Then he took a shower. NOW his hair is beautiful again. Then we sat for a while and worked on the blog, oh fun fun. I sure hope we end up reading this when we're old, or it's all for not.
Then he decided to go outside and get our Ninja going he wants to finally make a steak.
A man and his grill.
Hopefully Rebecca walks by. LOL first he's going to make more chicken. Yes you're right, we eat a lot of freaking chicken. Remember I don't eat beef.
He ate his steak outside for dinner. What a great dinner he is really mastering it.

Later he made a campfire.
It was a great weather for a fire, not to cold yet.
